1.1.2. People’s Courts of provinces and cities directly under central authority

  • Main tasks and practical skills:

    • There are 64 People’s Courts of provinces, cities directly under central authority so far, of which 59 are of provinces, and 05 are of cities directly under central authority.
    • According to Item 1 of Article 27 of the 2002 Law on Organization of the People’s Courts, the structure of the People’s Courts of provinces and cities directly under central authority shall be composed of:
      -  The Judicial Committee;
      - The Criminal Court, Civil Court, Economic Court, Labor Court, Administrative Court; under necessary circumstances, the National Assembly’ Standing Committee shall decide to establish other specialized tribunals at the request of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court;
    • The assistance apparatus.
      According to Decision No. 17/2003/TCCB dated 17 February 2003 of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court providing for the assistance apparatus of the local People’s Courts, which was passed by the National Assembly’s Standing Committee in Resolution No. 354/2003/NQ-UBTVQH11 dated 25 February 2003, the assistance apparatus of the People’s Courts of provinces or cities directly under central authority shall be composed of: Office; Investigation Director Room; Personnel Organization Room.
