2.4.4. Determining damage caused by harm to honour, dignity or reputation

  • Main tasks and practical skills:

    • Compensation for damage caused by harm to honour, dignity or reputation also includes a compensation amount for loss of, or reduction in actual income which shall be calculated in the same way as compensation for income of a person suffering from damage; a compensation amount for mental suffering as in a case where a person’s health is violated.
    • In addition to the above mentioned amount, there are other typical compensation amounts for damage caused by harm to honour, dignity or reputation which shall be calculated as follows:
      - Necessary expenses for revoking any publication of such harm;
      - Expenses for collecting evidence;
      - Expenses for travelling and accommodation in the course of requesting the authorities to verify the matter and post a denial on mass media;
      - Expenses for organizing a public apology or denial at the residence or working place of the person suffering from the damage;
      - Other actual expenses which are necessary for restricting and recovering damage (if any).
