2.6. The Judge should consider whether the appellate trial shall be adjourned or continued.

  • Main tasks and practical skills:

    • The Judge shall adjourn the trial whenever the appellant or respondent is absent for the first time.
    • Where the appellant is absent for the second time, the Judge shall suspend the appellate hearing with respect to the parts relating to the appeal of the appellent who is absent, regardless of the reason for the absence.
    • Where the respondent is absent for the second time, the Trial Panel shall decide to hear the case in the absence of the respondent, regardless of the reason for the absence.
