DECREE No. 176/2004/ND-CP of October 10, 2004 setting up Lai Chau provincial capital and townships of Tam Duong and Phong Tho rural districts, Lai Chau province

Under this Decree, Lai Chau provincial capital of Lai Chau province is set up on the basis of adjusting the administrative boundary of Tam Duong rural district.

Lai Chau provincial capital shall have a land area of 7,083 ha, a population of 18,089 and 5 dependent administrative units being Quyet Thang, Tan Phong and Doan Ket wards and Nam Loong and San Thang communes.

This Decree also prescribes the setting up of Tam Duong township of Tam Duong rural district and Phong Tho township of Phong Tho rural district.

This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.- (Summary)
