DECISION No. 984/QD-TTg of October 25, 1999 ratifying the investment master plan for the restoration, preservation, upgrading and development of revolutionary and resistance historical relics of the "Viet Bac Resistance Base"

The investment master plan for the restoration, preservation, upgrading and development of revolutionary and resistance historical relics of the "Viet Bac Resistance Base" shall be carried out on the territory of 6 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son and Ha Giang.

The project’s objective is to restore, preserve and upgrade the classified revolutionary and resistance historical relics in the "Viet Bac Resistance Base" for their long preservation; to bring into play the material and moral values in educating the tradition of fighting to defend the motherland and maintain the national cultural identities; to associate the restoration, preservation and upgrading of the historical relics with the national construction, socio-economic development, improvement of people’s life, environment and landscapes, and development of cultural and tourist activities.

The total investment capital is estimated at 199.6 billion VND, which shall be mobilized from different sources: budget capital; capital contributed by the ministries and centrally-run branches; capital mobilized by provinces themselves; international aid capital; revenues from tourist and service activities for re-investment, and other reasonable capital sources.- (Summary)
