DECISION No. 188/1998/QD-TTg of September 28, 1998 on the sale of State-owned villas in Ho Chi Minh City

The Prime Minister allows the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to sell State-owned villas in the inner city, which are built on premises of 500 m2 or larger each (excluding those not for sale as prescribed by the municipal authority) to subjects being current lawful tenants in strict accordance with provisions of Decree No.61-CP of July 5, 1994 of the Government on the purchase, sale and trading in residential houses. Particularly for villas with premises of over 1,000 m2, the municipal People's Committee shall carefully consider case by case before deciding to sell or use it for other purpose(s) with higher efficiency.

The selling price of a villa shall include the house price and the land price.

The regimes of price exemption and/or reduction under the current regulations applicable to the sale of the State-owned houses to the current tenants shall also be applied to the sale of villas stipulated in this Decision.-
