In order to prevent and fight measles thoroughly and more effectively, then proceed to eliminate measles by the year 2010, in line with the World Health Organization’s strategy on measles prevention and fight, the Prime Minister hereby instructs:

In 2002 and 2003, to organize the national campaign on second measles vaccination for all children aged between 9 months and 10 years throughout the country with funding provided by the Japanese Government.

The campaign on second measles vaccination shall be simultaneously conducted in 31 provinces and centrally-run cities from Thua Thien-Hue northwards in the first quarter of 2002, and simultaneously in 30 provinces and centrally-run cities from Da Nang southwards in the first quarter of 2003.

This Directive also clarifies the responsibilities of the concerned ministries and branches in the implementation of the said campaign.- (Summary)
