DECISION No.797-TTg of September 24, 1997 on the establishment of Hong Duc university. To establish Hong Duc university on the basis of Thanh Hoa Economic-Technical College, Thanh Hoa Teachers' College and Thanh Hoa Medical College. Hong Duc university is a training and research institution attached to the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province. The university is tasked to train science cadres and technologists of university and lower levels to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the province; to conduct research into the applied sciences and technological transfer in service of the socio-economic development of the province.-
