DIRECTIVE No.34/1999/CT-TTg of December 27, 1999 on stepping up the realization of the targets set till the year 2000 in favor of children, reviewing the 1991-2000 National Action Program for Children, and formulating the 2001-2010 National Action Program for Children

For the effective implementation of the Law on Protection, Care and Education of Children and achievement of targets in favor of children set forth in the Resolution of the VIIIth Party Congress, with a view to practically raising the children’s material and spiritual life, the Prime Minister instructs the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities, the Vietnam Committee for Protection and Care of Children, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Finance to take active and synchronous measures to step up the realization of targets set till the year 2000 in favor of children, review the achievement of targets of the 1991-2000 national action program for children in domains of healthcare, reduction of malnutrition rate among under-5 children, universalization of primary education among children, care for the children’s spiritual life, care for children under special circumstances.- (Summary)
