Directive No.186-TTg of March 28, 1997 on furthering the implementation of the Treaty on Cooperation and Sustainable Development in the Mekong River Basin.

The Presidents of the People’s Committees of Vietnam’s Mekong delta provinces, the Ministers, the Heads of the ministerial-level agencies involved in the activities of the Mekong River Board of Trustees shall have to directly study and firmly grasp the contents of the Mekong Cooperation Treaty and direct the implementation thereof, especially Articles 5, 7, 8 and 9.

The Vietnam Mekong River Committee shall have to popularize the Mekong Treaty and direct the implementation thereof and periodically report it to the Prime Minister.- (Summary)
