DIRECTIVE No. 05/2002/CT-TTg of February 18, 2002 intensifying measures to manage and protect relics’ antiques and prevent the illegal excavation and salvage of archaeological finds

In order to enhance the protection and management of relics, antiques and archaeological finds, the Prime Minister requests the ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the agencies attached to the Government and the presidents of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities, within their respective responsibilities, to focus on directing, guiding and organizing the implementation of jobs in examining and inspecting the protection, renovation, upgrading and development of relics; propagate, disseminate and educate the legislation on protection of cultural heritages; enhance the inspection; detect, stop and handle in time acts of violating law provisions in the field of cultural heritage protection; detect and stop in time acts of stealing and illegally trading in antiques, and infringing upon archaeological finds; continue to make inventory and list of antiques at relics; draw up plans for the special protection of rare and precious antiques,…-
