To establish Long Khanh provincial town on the basis of the whole land area of 19,408.4 ha and population of 130,593 of Xuan Loc district township and 8 communes of Long Khanh district.

To establish 6 wards and 1 commune of Long Khanh provincial town.

To rename Xuan Thanh commune of Long Khanh provincial town as Hang Gon commune.

To establish Cam My district on the basis of a land area of 46,796 ha and a population of 146,572 of 7 communes of Long Khanh district and 6 communes of Xuan Loc district.

To establish Trang Bom district on the basis of a land area of 32,612 ha and a population of 177,407 of 16 communes and Trang Bom district township of Thong Nhat district.

To merge the remaining Xuan Thien and Xuan Thanh communes of Long Khanh district into Thong Nhat district.

After the adjustment of its administrative boundaries, Dong Nai province shall have 11 dependent administrative units, including Bien Hoa provincial city, Long Khanh provincial town and 9 districts of Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc, Thong Nhat, Vinh Cuu, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach, Cam My and Trang Bom.- (Summary)
