DECISION No. 125/QD-TTg of January 28, 2003 approving the general plan on reorganization and renovation of State corporations and State enterprises under the Construction Ministry in the 2003-2005 period

Corporations shall still be State corporations:

Corporations 91 in the industrial sector: Vietnam Electricity Corporation, Vietnam Coal Corporation, Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vietnam Chemicals Corporation, Vietnam Garment and Textile Corporation, Vietnam Tobacco Corporation and Vietnam Paper Corporation.

Corporations 90 under the Ministry: The Motor and Agricultural Machine Corporation, the Industrial Machine and Equipment Corporation, the Electric Technical Equipment Corporation, Vietnam Electronic-Informatics Corporation, Vietnam Industrial Construction Corporation and Vietnam Minerals Corporation.

Vietnam Brewery and Beverage Corporation shall be reorganized into Hanoi Beer Corporation and Sai Gon Beer Corporation.

To dissolve Vietnam Plastics Corporation, Vietnam Leather & Shoe Corporation and Industrial Ceramic, Porcelain and Glass Corporation.

Enterprises where the State continues to hold 100% of their charter capital to be transformed into one-member limited liability companies: 36 enterprises, including 17 enterprises in 2003, 12 enterprises in 2004 and 7 enterprises in 2005.

Enterprises to be partly or wholly equitized where the State holds dominant shares: 41 enterprises, including 25 enterprises in 2003, 13 enterprises in 2004 and 3 enterprises in 2005.

Enterprises to be equitized, where the State holds equities representing at least 51% when they sell their equities for the first time: 5 enterprises, including 4 enterprises in 2003 and 1 enterprise in 2004.

Enterprises to be wholly or partly equitized where the State does not hold dominant shares: 34 enterprises and enterprisesÂ’ parts, including 23 enterprises and enterprisesÂ’ parts in 2003 and 11 enterprises and enterprisesÂ’ parts in 2004.

Enterprises to be merged into other enterprises: 4 enterprises in 2003 and 2 enterprises in 2004.

Enterprises to be assigned, sold, dissolved or declared bankrupt: 7 enterprises, including 3 enterprises in 2003 and 4 enterprises in 2004.- (Summary)
