Re: Repeal of the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No. 17 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) and the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No.18 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006)


Pursuant to the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No. 17 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) on Delegation of State Administration Power and No. 18 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) on Amendment to the Law on Royal Thai Police, it is expedient at this moment to administer the Royal Thai Police affairs in accordance with the law prior to such amendment. The Council for Democratic Reform hereby announces as follows:

Clause 1. The Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No. 17 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) re: Delegation of State Administration Power and No. 18 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) re: Amendment to the Law on Royal Thai Police shall be repealed.

Clause 2. The provisions of the Royal Thai Police Act, B.E. 2547 (2004) which were in force prior to the effective date of the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No. 18 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) re: Amendment to the Law on Royal Thai Police shall come into force.

Clause 3. The repeal of the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform under clause 1 does not affect any act which was done during the period of enforcement of such Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform. In this case, the Royal Thai Police Commission under the Royal Thai Police Act, B.E. 2547 (1998), shall be established within sixty days as from the date this Announcement comes into force.

During the vacancy of the Royal Thai Police Commission under paragraph one, the persons acting as members of the Royal Thai Police Commission under the Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform No. 18 dated 22nd September B.E. 2549 (2006) shall act as the Royal Thai Police Commission.
