Announcement of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China

For the purpose of implementing the spirits of the Sixteenth National Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on strengthening the creation of domestic export brands, enhancing the capacity of fostering domestic brands, further promoting the establishment of export brands, improving export competitiveness in a comprehensive way and realizing the fundamental shifts in the growth pattern of foreign trade, the List of Selected Brand Names in Exports to be Fostered and Developed with Priority in 2005-2006 by the Ministry of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as the "List") as deliberated and adopted by principal national industry intermediaries, various chambers of commerce for import and export, major provinces and municipalities building export brands as well as a review committee composed of relevant departments of the Ministry of Commerce is hereby released as follows:

This List shall go into effect as of the date of promulgation and will remain valid for two years, during which various supporting policies may be available to brands and enterprises under such List. The Ministry of Commerce will, upon the expiration of the effective period hereof, dynamically adjust the said brands and enterprises according to the results from the fostering of brands.

The List of Best Brands of Export Commodities to be Given Special Support" as formulated by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation shall become null and void as of the promulgation of this Announcement.
